About the Author

My name is Doug McIntire, a central Texas author now making my home near Austin. I'm 45 years old and married to a wonderful woman, Maria. We have two children, Xavier and Sarah. Xavier is 21 years old and in college. Sarah is 14 years old and in eighth grade.
The Life of Larry is the first novel I've completed but it's the second novel I've edited (although that may be a never ending project). Now that I have a little bit of a break, one of the first things I want to do is sit down and read it myself.
I started this book with just the title and the opening line: That's what it always came down to, money. On November 1, 2009, I opened up a Microsoft Word document and began typing. I had no idea where or how it was going to end. At one point I even had to decide whether it was going to be aliens or vampires that try to abduct Marci, one of the main characters of the book. I chose aliens and I think it turned out to be a good decision.
A few months ago, before I began editing it, I picked it up and read it myself. It had been over two years since I'd written it and I couldn't remember a lot of the details of the story. Overall, I found it a pleasant read.
So far, four other people have read The Life of Larry, and the reviews have all been pretty good.
I'm currently working to find an agent and would like to publish this novel. I hope that you'll have a chance to pick it up in your favorite book store and read it. I also hope that you'll enjoy reading it as much as I've enjoyed writing it!
I don't have any plans for a sequel, but there is a spot in the first third of the book where George drops a little tidbit that could turn into either a prequel or a sequel.
In addition to writing, I also like to ride my motorcycle. I have a 2002 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail. You can see a picture of it on my personal website, www.DougMcIntire.com. You can read more about me and my other novels and writing projects there. You can also contact me at Doug@DougMcIntire.com if you would like to send me an email about my website or my book.
