A Novel by Doug McIntire

Main Page

Doyle, Roger, George and Marci are college friends who don't have a care in the world until Marci is almost abducted by a group of aliens living in the sewers of their town. Knowing the authorities would not believe them, they take it upon themselves to find the aliens and try to stop them. But they soon discover that they aren't the only ones searching.

Kelly, a woman of power and influence, is also looking for aliens, but she has a far more sinister agenda. It isn't to save the good people of the town from abduction by the aliens; it's to capture one alive and deliver it her client in Argentina for a handsome sum of money.

But in order to find the aliens, Kelly first has to extort information from Larry, an information broker who makes his living selling that information to the highest bidder. In the process of squeezing what she needs from him, she destroys his reputation and makes an enemy in the process.

Armed with the information she needs, Kelly brings all of her resources to bear, including bringing in a team of crack mercenaries who have dealt with these aliens once before - and been beaten by them, losing many of their friends in the confrontation.

But as she gets closer to finding the aliens, Kelly realizes that someone else is also trying to find them. She believes that her client has double-crossed her, hiring another of her competitors to beat her out.

She diverts some of her resources to find out who her competition is; not realizing it's the kids. The four narrowly avoid being captured, but now know that Kelly is searching for them. They have nowhere to turn until Larry unexpectedly arrives, offering them his help.

Whatever they do, the kids have to avoid Kelly at all costs because they have the key piece of information she needs; the specific location of the alien lair. With Larry's help, they contact the mercenary team and convince them to wipe out the alien lair rather than capture one for Kelly.

The Life of Larry is a fun, easy novel written for teens.
